Everyone loves brownies, let’s be honest. Unfortunately, I rarely eat them anymore because of all the eggs, milk and butter they make them with.
However, I didn’t lose hope, I just started experimenting a bit and trying different recipes to see which one I like the most. I found the perfect baked brownie recipe and the perfect raw brownie recipe.
This raw option is definitely healthier as it doesn’t contain any refined sugar but only natural ingredients and it still tastes delicious.
All you need is:
400g of dark chocolate
180g of dried almonds (or any nuts you like the best)
80g of dried fruit or berries of your choice (I usually tend to go for apricots)
a pinch of salt
Melt the chocolate by putting it into a heatproof bowl over a pot with boiling water and stir it to not make it burn or stick to the bowl. Whilst waiting for the chocolate to melt, get a brownies tin (or whichever tin you have, it’ll still do the job just fine!) and line it with baking paper.
Once the chocolate is completely melted, remove the bowl from the boiling water and add nuts, dried fruit/berries and salt. Pour the mix into the tin and leave it in the fridge to cool down.
Before removing it from the fridge, make sure the chocolate has completely set. Then feel free to chop it into brownies size and enjoy it alone or with your favourite ice-cream!
If you have an orange, you can always add some orange zest into the mix before putting it into the fridge – dark chocolate and orange are a match made in heaven!
