Toppik Brow Fibers – Review

I’m someone who is always on the hunt for new make-up products, especially when it comes to eyebrows. I didn’t want to pass up the chance on reviewing a brow product that I’d never actually heard of before, and leaving my honest thoughts on whether this product is a hit or miss.

Toppik Brow Fibers* are exactly what they say on the packet. Small fibers that cling to your natural brow with adhesive wax to create a natural ‘no makeup’ makeup look for your brows.

”The Toppik Brow Building Fibers Set makes even the thinnest eyebrows instantly thick, full and natural-looking. Whether you want to fill in patchy areas or really make your eyebrows pop, the Toppik Brow Building Fibers Set is the best eyebrow makeup for full, natural brows. The 3-piece kit includes a brow wax to shape eyebrows, Brow Building Fibers and a custom dual-end brush for wax and fibers application.”

First impressions: The packaging is sleek, nicely compact & travel friendly. I hate clunky products that take up unnecessary space in my make-up bag, so this is a win-win. It comes with the brow wax, fibers, and a double ended brush.

Application: The application was easy, first apply the wax to the areas of the brow that you want filling in with the angled brush, then apply the brow fibers on and that’s it – you’re done. I chose dark brown for my colour.

Although my eyebrows are closer to an ebony colour, I hate wearing black eyebrow pencils because quite frankly, they look awful!

Before: As you can see in the picture above, I naturally have very thick eyebrows. Some say this is a blessing, in fact it is sometimes a curse. Towards the tail of my brow, years of plucking it willy-nilly has caused it to look abnormally smaller than the rest of my brow. I’m always looking for a product that will work well with this issue. I often find that brow products tend to market themselves to people who need a complete restructure of their brows, rather than a touch up in ‘bald’ areas.

After: As you can see, my brow has been transformed by the product. Not only did I clean up the tail of my brow and add a bit more of a ‘feathered’ look, the product blended seamlessly and I was really happy with the end result.

If you are looking for the angled brow look, or the gradient brow look, this is not a product for you.

If you are looking for feathery, natural looking (and feeling) brows, then this is definitely worth it. If you have really thick brows like me with sparse areas this works really well, but I’m 100% sure that if you have extremely thin eyebrows then the results would be even better.

Wearability: This product wears really, really well. I even combed my brows after with a spoolie brush to distribute the product a bit more, and set my brows into a shape, and I didn’t find that the product went clumpy, or that my eyebrows were crunchy after the wax set my brows. I got compliments saying how natural my brows looked during the day.

Price point: Retailing at $19.95 (£16.37) this is definitely on the pricier side of brow products, and definitely considered a luxury item. I can see this product lasting you 6+ months, as a little bit of product goes a long way. However, as much as I like indulging every now and again in make-up, I do think that the price is a bit too much considering there are other brow products on the market that do a very similar job.

However, I really do think that this product is extremely innovative, and I’ve never come across anything like this for brows before. If you are someone who still hasn’t found your holy grail brow product, I strongly suggest that you try this out!
